GCSE - How to revise stress-free

** I wrote this a few months ago but never posted it.. I just found it in drafts and thought it may be useful to some people. So some things I talk about are from a few months ago, if that even makes any sense!;)**

Helloooo guys :)

So, its the first week back to school/college this week and exams are creeping ever closer (*sadface*). As you guys know I am now in my first year of A levels so did my GCSE's last year. I wouldn't say that exams are my favourite thing (not sure many people would haha;)) so I have thought up my top tips when it comes to unstressful revision.  :)

  • Plan
The first thing I did when it came to revise for GCSE's and I will be sure to do this year was to create a timetable for myself. Eventhough this is a very boring task in itself, I found it to be incredibly useful as it meant that I knew exactly how much revision I needed to do. It greatly minimised stress for me as it meant I could clearly see when I had done enough revision, so I could go out and do something I enjoy knowing that I had revision sussed ;) To make my lovely time table I used GetRevising.com, so go and check it out to create a timetable as cool as mine...;)

  • A place
This I found is one of the most important things. For me, it depended on what I was revising as to where I would revise it. I really struggled with English and Geography so for those I would revise in my room where no one could disturb me and it was very quiet. However, for things I found okay, I used find putting a movie on that I'd seen a billion times for some quiet background noise would help stop revision getting too boring. (Don't know if that tip will work for everyone but it definately worked for me haha;))

  • Organisation
If there's one thing I would change about my GCSE's it would be when I started revising. Start revising as early as you can, this will drastically minimise the stress close to the exams. Also, personally I think that one of the worst feelings is going into an exam knowing that you panic revised the night before and can't really remember anything you tried to revise.

So there are a few of my top revision tips. I am not a revision expert (if thats a thing;)) I just speak from past experience. If this helps even just one person then I will be so amamzingly happy. Thankyou for reading and I would love to hear your comments. And a massive Good luck in your exams.

Bye for now!

Your opinion is needed! :)

Hey Guys!

So yesterday (24th May 2015) marked exactly 2 months untill my 17th birthday! I don't normally 'count down' to my birthday but this year is very different. Of course, as you all know, hitting the big one-seven means one thing.... Driving! I'm soo excited to drive because I live in a tiny little village which my brother once described as 'the arse end of nowhere' and it is impossible to get anywhere without being driven, especially because there isn't even a bus which runs through this village! Being able to drive is going to be so amazing and I'll have so much more independence :)
As I have a late birthday and I would really love to have passed my driving test before college in September. So, I'm going to do an Intensive Driving Course. This is basically where you do around 6 hours of driving lessons each day over about a week and take your test at the end of the week. I thought it would be interesting to 'daily blog' during this so you can all see how its going!:) It may also be interesting for anyone wanting to learn to drive or thinking of taking an intensive course.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this in the comments below!

Thanks for reading!

Clear skin issues!

Hey Guys!

During times of stress (mainly exams!) or when I'm feeling a bit run down, such as after having a cold, I find that my skin really breaks out. I'm quite lucky in that for the majority of the time, my skin is naturally quite clear. But of course, exams have just finished for another year and my skin is recovering from a bad break out with spots :(
A few months ago I headed into my local drugs store, on a mission to find something to moisturise and help my skin. I bought quite a few things but there is one particular product which I need to share with you!

Nivea daily essentials hydration primer (picture below)

  • This is available for 'normal' skin and dry/sensitive skin.
  • I use this everyday under my makeup. I love it because its also a primer and I have really noticed a difference in the length of time my makeup lasts.
  • I'm also using some other products but, as I use this daily, I have noticed that my skin LOVES it and is so much clearer.
  • I will probably keep using this even after my skin has cleared because I love how my skin feels with this on and its a much kinder way of priming my skin on a daily basis.
  • This was £4.99 from my local drugs store and I will definately be buying it again

Thanks for reading,
Bye for now!

I wish I knew this before Prom....

Hey Guys!

It's that time of year again... Exams! But that also means that Prom is on the horizon for people sitting their GCSE's this year. As you guys know I did mine last year, so also had my prom last year. It's safe to say that prom is truely AMAZING! Its such a lovely way to celebrate the end of horrible exams and your time at your school, especially if you aren't staying on for sixth form. But there are a few things I would tell myself if I were to go back to this time last year.. Before prom..:)

1- Dress! Yes, it's a big part of prom! But alot of people spend alot of time worrying about this part, especially about potentially having the same dress as someone else going to prom. Some people decide to buy their dress early to avoid any clashes. Honestly, it really isn't worth worrying about in my opinion! Its not very likely to happen that two people will come wearing exactly the same thing, and even if they did, people would care for about 30 seconds if they even noticed! Although if there are alot of girls worrying about this at your school, it might be an idea to set up a facebook page for everyone to post pictures of their dress on once they've bought it to avoid problems. We did this last year and it was great! But remember, dress shopping is the one of the highlights of prom so don't let this worry spoil it.

2- Arrival - to some people this is also an important part of prom. People at my prom turned up in Limos, tanks, golf buggies to name a few. But my friends and I all decided to just get dropped off and not have a fancy entrance. Either way, Prom will be an amazing night! So don't let this part stress you out too much either :)

3- A date! - another highlight of prom... Or is it?! Thinking about it not many people at my prom actually had prom dates, everyone just kind of went in their friendship groups. Although, the people who did have dates didn't really stick together much. There's so much to do and so many people to talk to that a date really only became part of the enterance for most people!

Thanks for reading! If you were worried about prom, I hope I've made that a bit better for you :) I hope you all have an amazing time :)

Bye for now!

Smile..:)

Hey Guys!

Today I'm going to Blog about something which can relate to everyone and It's something which I think is really important. So, I was scrolling on Twitter the other day and saw this quote...

s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/

Seeing this really made me think. We all meet loads of people on a day to day basis, from people at school or work to people just walking down the street. I loved this quote because I think it really shows the power a smile can have, aswell as the power of simple politeness. Whether it's from smiling to someone you pass in the street, to thanking someone for helping you in a shop, it really does make a difference.
I'm not sure why this made me think so much to be honest... I think it was because it really is so simple yet so powerful, your one smile and act of kindness can really make someones day.
I'm going to set myself a challenge, to pass on a smile at least once each day..:)

Thanks for reading and let me know about your small acts of kindness, I'd love to hear about them!:)

Bye for now!
